Will Your Covers Fit My Style of Neck Brace?
We hope it will. I designed the covers to fit over basic foam style braces. The braces come in a number of different brands, and names. I have seen them called “sponge”, “foam”. They are adjustable in the back with velcro and are the most common neck brace used. Unfortunately, my neck brace covers will not fit over the more complicated, and extensive braces that are very large, like the Breg Pinnacle, neck support posture braces, or any of the large rigid style braces that have parts that come way down in the front or up in the back.
What Size Neck Cover Do I Need To Order?
This is a question I hear often and it can be one of the most important details of your order, aside from fabric selection! So how do we figure out what size you need? Thankfully, there are several ways to determine the size you need to order. You can ask your health care provider, look at the neck brace packaging or measure your neck brace.
Doctor Knows Best
If your neck brace, also known as a cervical collar or C collar is recommended by your doctor, they will be able to tell you what size to purchase. It might be listed on paperwork from the office or you can call to ask.
Check the Box
Information on sizing is usually found on the neck brace box or bag if you have it handy. If you have none of these, do not worry!! You can always measure your neck brace cover.
Measure
If you have the neck brace in front of you, grab a ruler or tape measure. I have found the easiest way is to place neck brace on a flat surface, like a table. Find tallest part of brace, this is usually the sides. Using a ruler or tape measure, look at eye level for most accurate sizing. It will be between 2″ – 4″. If in doubt, I would always order half a size up, because it is better for the cover to fit and be slightly loose than to not fit at all.
What If I Order The Wrong Size?
If you order the wrong size, or the fabric isn’t what you like, you can always return it for an exchange or refund within 30 days. You do have to pay return shipping, as I cannot cover all the costs, but I want you to have something you can use that will make your time of wearing the neck brace something a bit more comfortable and pretty.
Where Did It All Began?
I designed and made these covers per request of a very dear customer who regularly purchased my soy wax candles. She was tired of the white foam neck cover she had to wear. It was not pretty, plus it wasn’t the easiest to keep clean. She used generic slip covers that were white and simple. She loved the colors of the many cool wrap neck ties I make and wondered if I could make her a neck brace cover that was more functional and pretty. And so I did. After research and much testing and reworking, and more testing, we arrived at the model I sell today. I have added many different types of fabric, for summer and winter wear.
